Pharmacies at Risk for Losing Tricare Patients

PHARMACIES AT RISK FOR LOSING TRICARE PATIENTS

Express Scripts (ESI) slashed pharmacy reimbursements for 2023 making it impossible for independent community pharmacies to participate in the Tricare pharmacy network. Moreover, ESI has notified TRICARE beneficiaries that their pharmacy will no longer be in network as of October 24, 2022 instead of the end of December. ESI’s actions are creating disruptions for TRICARE beneficiaries and their caregivers making it more difficult for many to access their necessary prescriptions.

The Florida Pharmacy Association, the FPA’s Academy of Pharmacy Practice Independent Section and the Georgia Pharmacy Association are working together on a Change.org petition.  Please take a moment to sign up on this petition to call attention to this important issue.  Key members of Congress are also involved.  A letter by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) has been prepared and is being sent to the Department of Defense on this issue.
